Here are your Puck Previews: Spotlighting the key games in NHL action, news and views as well as general frivolity. Make sure to stop back here for the nightly Three Stars when the games are finished.
Preview: San Jose Sharks vs. Detroit Red Wings, 7:30 p.m. EST. The Sharks have lost six of nine, which is incidentally what we used to call Jeri Ryan's character on "Star Trek: Voyager." Detroit handed the Sharks a 5-3 loss in San Jose last Tuesday and looked very, very good in the process. Mr. Plank wonders if the Sharks are turning over the puck too often this season, which is never good when you're about to face the Big Red Wings Machine.
Preview: New Jersey Devils at Pittsburgh Penguins, 7 p.m. EST. Evgeni Malkin's out for Bill Guerin Night, with the type of injury that Coach Dan Byslma said requires some short term rest for the big guy. Marty Brodeur is the Devils' backup goalie here. In other news, ESPN has moved Sidney Crosby ahead of Alex Ovechkin in its fantasy hockey rankings and treating it with the importance of the President's approval ratings.
Preview: Dallas Stars at Columbus Blue Jackets, 7 p.m. EST. After winning five in a row, the Jackets have now lost five in a row. Mathieu Garon gets the nod over Steve Mason, and Puck-Rakers reminds us that Derek Dorsett will face James Neal for the first time since Neal concussed him over a year ago. Said Dorsett: "We've got more things to worry about than my revenge. I'm not too worried about it at all . . . If something happens, something happens . . . We need a win and I'm not going to put myself in front of the team. We need a win and that should be my main focus.

• The Hockey Writers dig Hulsizer and think he's the right guy for the ‘Yotes: "Hulsizer knows the risks going into this deal, and the candor with which he is approaching this challenge is refreshing. A change in coaching staff or front office personnel can be used by team owners to say "hey, we're changing! Come check us out!" A change in ownership, however, provides a unique opportunity to hit the reset button on the entire culture of a franchise, and the NHL is littered with examples of this principle being put into practice." • Finally, that's to our own Ryan Lambert, there's a war brewing between Nashville Predators fans and Atlanta Thrashers fans over whether Ondrej or Anders is the goalie who gets to be called "The Giant." [On The Forecheck]
