Bid with confidence: Logan Morrison’s cast is up on eBay

So what do you get for the Florida Marlins fan who already has four of his own sections at empty Sun Life Stadium?

How about this protective cast that was just taken off the foot of left fielder Logan Morrison and signed by not only the Twitter titan, but also 23 of his Marlins teammates?

Morrison just placed his medical memory up on eBay for an auction that will honor the memory of his father, whopassed away from lung cancer last December.

From the eBay product description:

Cast was worn by Logan Morrison, starting left fielder for the Florida Marlins, after injuring his foot last week. Item was signed by 24 members of the 2011 Florida Marlins Roster (not including Hanley Ramirez #2) and was "MLB Authenticated" at the time of signing.

All proceeds will be donated to the American Lung Association.

No word on why Hanley wouldn't put his John Hancock on LoMo's cast. Maybe he has an exclusive deal with a memorabilia company the stops him from signing items made from fiberglass or Plaster of Paris?

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see what this cast fetches when the auction ends on May 6. If collectors can get past what I'm sure is not a nice smell to this conversation piece, perhaps it'll open a whole new wing of the memorabilia industry.

And perhaps the walking boot Morrison is currently wearing during his rehab will be the next item listed?
