Kimi Raikkonen entered in Charlotte Nationwide race; Cup next?

Well, that was fast.

In a Cope-twinlike rise from the Camping World Truck Series, 2007 Formula 1 champion Kimi Raikkonen is entered in Saturday night's Nationwide Series race at Charlotte after making his first Truck Series start Friday.

Raikkonen scraped the wall a few times during the Truck race, but finished a solid 15th. After the race, winner Kyle Busch hinted that there was a chance that Raikkonen could be making a Nationwide Series start immediately when he said that he had a Nationwide car at the Kyle Busch Motorsports shop. Raikkonen is officially entered in Joe Nemechek's No. 87 Toyota.

Could the Sprint Cup Series be in Raikkonen's immediate future? Well, Sonoma is only four weekends away. There weren't any rumblings that Raikkonen would make his Sprint Cup debut in 2011, but given the appearance of an accelerated track to the top-tier of NASCAR, it's not totally out of the question that Raikkonen would be someone's road-course "ringer" in Napa Valley. Especially if the reports of him paying to race are true.
