Joe Thornton plans to play in Game 5 against Canucks

Joe Thornton was leading the NHL playoff scoring race until Henrik Sedin's four-point night Sunday put him on top for the moment.

After losing his scoring lead and in the midst of attempting to help the San Jose Sharks claw back from a 4-0 deficit, Thornton was dealt another blow when, like teammate Douglas Murray at the end of the first period, he was on the tracks as the Raffi Torres train was coming through:

Thornton did not return to the game for the remainder of the third period and in the postgame press conference head coach Todd McLellan did not have an update on his condition. Thornton wasn't available to media after the game, either.

But Thornton did confirm to the San Jose Mercury News' Mark Emmons on Sunday night that he will be in the Sharks' lineup for Game 5 Tuesday night, texting him Sunday night: "100 percent. It's playoffs, got to play through everything."

You knew that unless Thornton was without limb he'd be lining up for San Jose in what could possibly be its final game of the season.
