Showdown, Week 21: Rory Sabbatini vs. Sean O’Hair

So in an attempt to inject a bit more life and interest into tournaments, and because we're both inveterate gamblers who are one bad card from being out on the streets, Shane Bacon and I are playing a golf version of a football suicide pool: We each pick one golfer per tournament and see how they do against each other, straight up. Victory over the other guy gets one point, victory in the tournament gets three points. And when we burn a golfer, he's done for the year. This week, we continue the Texas swing as we hit the HP Byron Nelson Classic. Saddle up!

Bacon: Well, I figured it would come to this ... a week after picking my second winner of the year (pats back), I'm going to go with the guy I said I'd never go with. It's the smart move to pick Rory Sabbatini here, because he won the Byron Nelson in 2009 and is playing some solid golf, and sometimes you have to draft guys you don't like in fantasy football, and that's what I'm doing this week. Come on Sabbatini, don't let me down now!

Busbee: You know, if you take out all those bonus points you've gotten from picking two winners, I'd totally be destroying you. Really. Anyway, I'm taking Sean O'Hair. He's posted two straight top-20s, and playing the hot hand is always a solid bet. Plus, he just ditched Sean Foley, and anything that perpetuates that soap opera is worth following.

Last week: Busbee's pick of Zach Johnson played well enough, but it wouldn't matter who I picked, as Bacon snagged Colonial winner David Toms (and got three points in the process, retaking the lead.) Dammit!
