Darren Clarke fires, but Poulter and DJ win Shark Shootout

This past weekend's Shark Shootout didn't exactly light the world on fire with dramatic shots and heartstopping finishes, but there were still a few gems, like this one from Darren Clarke:

Fine job, but it wasn't enough to hold off the on-fire Ian Poulter and Dustin Johnson, who combined for a scramble 59 to take the Shark Shootout by two strokes over Clarke and Mr. 2010, Graeme McDowell.

Both teams passed the teams of Jerry Kelly and Steve Stricker, who finished at 64, and Fred Funk and Kenny Perry, who carded a joint 66. Also in the mix: Chris DiMarco and Anthony Kim, who shot a final-day 61.

The Shark Shootout featured 12 teams in two rounds of play, modified alternate shot in round 1 and better ball in round 2. The purse was $3 mil, with Johnson and Poulter splitting $750,000 of that. Evenly, we'd hope.
