Champions Tour returns to action in Boca Raton

After a two-week hiatus, the Champions Tour resumes its official schedule this week at the Allianz Championship in Boca Raton, Florida, where defending champ Bernhard Langer looks to regain his 2010 form and capture his first win of the 2011 season.  

Standing in his way this week is the only man on the Champions Tour with a win in 2011, John Cook. Cook was very impressive three weeks ago in Hawaii, and if his form holds over the two-week break, he'll likely be Langer's toughest competition this week.

A few big names are absent this week, most notably Fred Couples and Tom Watson, but there is still plenty of firepower in the field.

Mark Calcavecchia returns to the Champions Tour after a brief and for the most part, unproductive two-week stint on the PGA TOUR. Calc has made no bones aboutthe fact that he's more comfortable on the Champions Tour, and that comfort level is evident in his play. Though he's failed to make significant waves on the Champions Tour like some other high-profile newcomers, Calc has the ability to be amongst the leaders on this Tour for the next five years. 

Though Calcavecchia should prove a worthy foe, this week's event is a two-man race between Langer and Cook, who battled to the end and them some last year as they each finished -17 under par for the week. Only an amazing hole-out from the bunker on the first playoff hole gave Langer the edge last year.  

This time around, expect Cook to get the better of Langer, as his form seems to be slightly better heading into this week.
