Your handy AT&T Pebble Beach cheat sheet

The season is underway, and with it a different venue every week. Our weekly cheatsheet will give you all the info you need to know to plan your viewing, fantasy picks and bar bets. Enjoy, and if there's a category you'd like to see added, hit us up at jay.busbee@yahoo.com. We're here to serve, after all.

History: Originally known as the Bing Crosby Pro-Am, or the "Crosby Clambake," the event dates to 1937. It's been played in the Pebble Beach area since 1947. Celebrities have been a part of the game since its inception, and one or two even know what they're doing. Jim Backus -- that would be Thurston Howell III himself -- shocked the golf world when he made the cut in 1964. The field includes 156 pros and 156 amateurs, each team playing one of three courses during the first three days. The 54-hole cut survivors (low 60 plus ties) then join to play Pebble on Sunday.

The TV: Golf Channel Thursday and Friday from 3-6 p.m. ET; CBS on the weekend, 3-6 p.m. ET Saturday and 3-6:30 p.m. ET Sunday.

The courses: Pebble Beach, Monterey Peninsula and Spyglass Hill, three of the finer courses you'll ever see. The marquee track, of course, is Pebble, most recently the host of last year's U.S. Open. (Don't remind Dustin Johnson, OK?)

The field: Johnson and Phil Mickelson headline the tournament, but there's plenty of solid power further down the list. David Toms, Rory Sabbatini, Jim Furyk, John Daly and Geoff Ogilvy are just a few of the pros teeing it up. Celebs include Kevin Costner, Bill Murray, Kurt Russell and Drew Brees.

The fantasy picks: Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson (A-List), Tim Clark and Sean O'Hair (B-List), Mark Wilson and JB Holmes (C-List).

The relevant video: Some fine moments here with both celebs and golfers known and unknown. Plus, lovely scenery, yes?

Enjoy the tournament, everybody! Make your picks below!
