18, 11, 13, Oh My! John Daly confuses everyone with huge score

It's never a good thing when your score is so high, not even the PGA Tour stat guys can figure it out, but that's what John Daly did on Friday at the John Deere.

The Twitter world exploded when PGATour.com posted an 18 for Daly's score on the par-4 fourth hole, a number that would have been one shot from the highest score ever recorded on the PGA Tour. Daly had actually posted an 18 before, back in 1998 at Bay Hill, but that was on a par-5 and this was a par-4, so it would have been another feat for Big John.

Fortunately for Daly (andunfortunatelyfor us golf writer folks looking for anything to get us to next week's British Open), the error on scoring was caused when he told Todd Hamilton "put me down for an 18" as he walked to the next tee. A few minutes after it was posted as 18, the score was changed to 11.

Problem is, that wasn't right either. The correct score, lucky 13, was finally put down for Daly's troubles, and his 81 has him well outside the cut line.

The one thing you can say about this? Only Daly would make scoring double-digits on one hole this exciting.
