Even the NFL is overhyping Jadeveon Clowney at this point

Just in case you're among the ever-shrinking number of non-recruiting-obsessed individuals who still need an introduction, meet South Pointe High (S.C.) defensive end/running back Jadeveon Clowney, the most sought-after prospect in the 2011 recruiting class according to pretty much everyone:

Yes, he is big. Yes, he is nightmarishly fast. Yes, the overmatched 16-year-olds on the offensive line appear more interested in basic self-preservation than in feigning attempts to block the fire-breathing Predator on the other side of the line. And yes, according to ESPN's Bruce Feldman, based on these highlights and others like them, "pretty much everyone" may also include coaches in the NFL:

(That would be Jason Pierre-Paul, a first-round pick for the Giants last spring after just one season at South Florida out of junior college.) Yes, considering the competition on the film, the coach is probably in the NFC West. That's still what you'd call a ringing endorsement.

NFL scouts drooling over high school seniors may not be as far out as you think, either: From the sound of it, by the time Clowney actually puts his name on a Letter of Intent, he may be eligible for the draft.
